It’s The Little Things

It really is the little things that make a home festive. We don't have much, but the little decorations we do have spread around the house are contributing to the festive atmosphere. That along with our nightly Advent devotions and prayers with [...]

What’s happening in my home? In the kitchen…. I am learning how to incorporate vegan recipes into our menu in preparation for more fasting  in the future. With our marriage… I am realizing that just because your married doesn't mean you will suddenly see eye to eye on everything, and that it's okay to [...]

  Spent the day scrubbing down walls and shampooing the carpets, the kids did the baseboards and their bedroom doors. All that needs to be done now is shampooing the sofa, waxing the floors (tile)and washing the windows. Hopefully I will be able to get that done tomorrow. I am exhausted, bread is going in [...]

A Relaxing Day

Today I decide to just kick back, so we all stayed in the bed with hubs and watched Walker, Texas Ranger. I dragged myself away from everyone so I could head out for Women's Bible study and DHC meeting. It started to rain after I returned home, what is it about the rain that make [...]

Woke up today to the wind howling and the view outside is depressing to say the least. Partly due to our weather forecast and partly because the upcoming days are going to be busy we will do our weekly deep clean today. I also switched dinner plans to accommodate the weather, instead of meatloaf we [...]

Hubs is off today so I will be taking this opportunity to go over the upcoming yearly budget. I also need to redo my HMB as I decided that I want everything to revolve around the liturgical year. I came to this decision slowly, mostly due to trying to prioritize what is most important for [...]

Rolled out of bed late. Went into the bathroom to splash some water on my face and brush my teeth. Sat down and did morning prayers, Hubs made the pancakes for breakfast this morning, while I hung up a load of laundry then started a new load. Back into the house and cleaned up the [...]

Today was fairly uneventful. Laundry, dishes, and a visit from Direct T.V installation man, who came to swap dishes for us since we switched from Dish Network to Direct T.V. We will save about thirty dollars a month this way. I will also be cancelling our Netflix account. I will truly miss it. We have [...]

Lot’s has happened this past week. I was finally baptised and confirmed: RainSoft came and installed a new water system for us: My water heater gave out and we had to have a new one installed. I lost hundreds of post on my other blog by making a silly mistake. As you [...]

I love Fridays, around here they are awful busy. Cleaning, cooking and baking for the next two days is no small task, esp. with kids underfoot. Breakfast and lunch are kept simple so I can focus on the Sabbath meals. Breakfast for the day Sweet Rice and Toast. Lunch is Pizza Bread and Peaches.

Confession

Let us confess our sins against God and our neighbor.

Most merciful God, we confess that we have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what we have done, and by what we have left undone. We have not loved you with our whole heart; we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. We are truly sorry and we humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on us and forgive us; that we may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen.

Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us all our sins through our Lord Jesus Christ, strengthen us in all goodness, and by the power of the Holy Spirit keep us in eternal life. Amen.

General Thanksgiving

Almighty God, Father of all mercies, we your unworthy servants give you humble thanks for all your goodness and loving-kindness to us and to all whom you have made. We bless you for our creation, preservation, and all the blessings of this life; but above all for your immeasurable love in the redemption of the world by our Lord Jesus Christ; for the means of grace, and for the hope of glory. And, we pray, give us such an awareness of your mercies, that with truly thankful hearts we may show forth your praise, not only with our lips, but in our lives, by giving up our selves to your service, and by walking before you in holiness and righteousness all our days; through Jesus Christ our Lord, to whom, with you and the Holy Spirit, be honor and glory throughout all ages. Amen.

ANIMA CHRISTI

Soul of Christ, sanctify me.
Body of Christ, save me;
Blood of Christ, inebriate me;
Water from the side of Christ, wash me;
Passion of Christ, strengthen me;
O good Jesu, hear me;
Within thy wounds hide me;
Suffer me not to be separated from thee;
From the malicious enemy defend me;
In the hour of my death call me,
And bid me come to thee.
That with thy Saints I may praise thee
For ever and ever. Amen.
